Supporting Your CommunitY
All year long, the Staller Center relies on the generosity and kindness of our patrons,
donors, and sponsors.
More than ever, it is important to support our local businesses and community members.
Donate to the Coronavirus Crisis Challenge
With the number of COVID-19 patients continuing to increase, the Della Pietra Family's
$500,000 dollar-for-dollar challenge for critical supplies and treatments has been
extended by the Clarkson and Heintzelman Family to $750,000.
The university is currently accepting PPE donations that include face shields, N95 3M 1860 masks, protective eyewear, goggles, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and other supplies required for staff safety.
Donate iPads to Stony Brook Medicine
Anyone who has an iPad that is not being used, please consider donating to Stony Brook
University Hospital. The donated devices will be repurposed to provide telecommunication
for patients to connect with medical staff. About 100 devices of a supported iPad model are needed.
Emergency Student Support
Many Stony Brook students—undergraduate, graduate and professional— come from socioeconomic
backgrounds most at-risk during this crisis. Your gift, of any amount, will immediately
help them overcome challenges that compromise their safety, health and well-being.
Send a Message of Support to Hospital Staff and Patients
Many neighbors and community groups have asked about making cards to let the medical staff who are working around
the clock know they are thinking of them. The easiest and most effective way to share
your sentiments is through a simple cell phone video. If you would like to send a
message of support, please email a video no longer than 20 seconds to Joan.Dickinson@stonybrook.edu or submit to @stonybrookmedicine via social media. The videos will be shared throughout
the hospital areas and visible as the employees move throughout their day.
Purchase a Gift Card to one of our Hospitality Sponsor Restaurants
Many businesses are open for delivery or pick-up, but you can support them by purchasing gift cards as well.
