Join us for an inspiring conversation with University Scholars alumnus Dennis L. Caruana, MD, now a PGY-2/R1 Resident Physician in Diagnostic Radiology at Yale School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Health.

Before beginning medical school, Dr. Caruana took a gap year — a pause that became one of the most transformative experiences of his journey. In this talk, he’ll share how stepping off the traditional path shaped his personal growth, career trajectory, and understanding of success.

Whether you’re considering a gap year, feeling uncertain about your next steps, or simply curious about how to find purpose in the pauses, this session will offer valuable insight and reflection from someone who’s been there.
