Dara Coppolone

Dara is currently a K-4 Classroom Music, Chorus, and Violin teacher for Riverhead Central School District where she implements Orff-Schulwerk, First Steps in Music, and Conversational Solfege approaches into instruction. Previously, Dara was the Classroom Music/Strings teacher and Arts Liaison at PS329Q - East Elmhurst Community School in Queens where she wrote and established the curricula for the K-4 Music Program and founded the Orchestra, Beginner Violin, and Orff Ensemble programs. Dara’s 4th Grade Orff Ensemble, The 97th Street Roots was showcased at the Queens Borough Arts Festival in 2018.

Dara is currently completing her Masters Degree at Stony Brook University in the School of Professional Development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from The Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College with a concentration in both Instrumental and Choral Music. While attending Queens College, Dara was the first recipient of the Cora E. Alter Scholarship in Music Education. She also is certified in FAME Conversational Solfege: Levels 1 and 2 and FAME First Steps in Music. In addition, Dara completed Orff-Schulwerk Level 1 in 2015 and is excited to finish her certification in the near future.
