A Letter from the Director

Dear Friends,

Warm greetings to you as we embark on an exciting new season at the Charles B. Wang Center! It is with immense pleasure that I present our diverse lineup of programs, carefully crafted to honor the rich tapestry of Asian art and culture.

This spring, we hope that you’ll step into immersive experiences like the Cutting Through Culture: Chinese Paper Cutting Workshop and the enchanting Lunar New Year Celebration: Fluttering Butterflies performance in the Theatre, both integral parts of our Lunar New Year festivities.

Our Theatre will be the host and haven for everything from cinematic explorations of Japanese animation to lectures on the profound stories found within our John W. Winkler’s Chinatown etchings exhibition and on the stunning artistic representations of Pyongyang. We will also have a thought-provoking lecture by Cathy Hong Park during Asian Heritage Month. Also, be sure not to forget to take part in our annual Sakura Matsuri: Cherry Blossom Festival, or to discover the timeless artistry of Persian geometric design in Ghazaleh Khayat's workshop.

We look forward to welcoming you to these inspiring programs, and to creating memorable moments together as we celebrate the Lunar New Year, Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Persian culture, and the ephemeral beauty of Japanese cherry blossoms.
