Dominique has been a dedicated member of the Stony Brook University community since
2001, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Administration and Grants for
the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SoMAS) for the past six years. In this
role, she primarily manages the full employee life cycle for an active workforce of
200 faculty and staff across the Marine Science, Atmospheric Science, and Sustainability
Studies divisions.
Dominique’s interest in academic administration was sparked by her undergraduate experiential
learning in the Department of Sociology. During that time, she served as an office,
research, and teaching assistant—which uniquely included working in a wet lab studying
social dominance hierarchies in cichlid fish.
An active leader on campus, Dominique is currently serving her third term as an elected
At-Large Senator for West Campus in the University Senate and has been elected as
a Professional Delegate for the United University Professions (UUP). Her commitment
to excellence has been recognized within her former Division’s Outstanding Service
Award (2014) and the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service (2022-2023).
Outside of her professional roles, Dominique volunteers for a local cat rescue, enjoys
painting, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
