Melissa J. Woody is a New York State Licensed Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting children, youth & college-aged students through a trauma-informed lens in both non-profit & public sectors. Melissa is deeply committed to ensuring every student feels seen, supported, and empowered. She is a trusted advocate for student well-being and resilience.
A proud Seawolf, Melissa earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and her Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University, completing her graduate studies at the School of Social Welfare in 2018. As a transfer, commuter, and non-traditional student, Melissa’s journey through higher education was shaped by meaningful connections with faculty and staff, as well as her hands-on experience as an Academic Peer Advisor in the Academic Transfer and Advising Services Office.
