Lion Babe

New York-bred with a concoction of funk, soul, and their own sonic magic, Lion Babe’s unique sound has defied genre. Multidisciplinary Artist Jillian Hervey and DJ and producer Lucas Goodman (aka AstroRaw) deliver magnetic, unique performances that have allowed them to wow audiences at Coachella’s mainstage to intimate parties in the New York Fashion scene. 

Hervey, daughter of singer and actress Vanessa Williams, has blazed her own trail along with Goodman, with original songs like “Wonder Woman” produced by Pharrell Williams, and “Hit the Ceiling” which was featured on HBO’s hit show “Insecure,” as well as covers of classics like “Get into the Party Life” by Little Beaver and Carly Simon‘s “Why.” This has all led up to their new album “cosmic wind” featuring pre – released records “the wave” featuring leikeli47 and their newest single “western world” featuring Wu-tang clan‘s own “Raekwon.

Colin Carr & Kyungwha Chu

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2022 @ 7PM  RECITAL HALL

Program to include Beethoven’s Sonata no. 3 in A major op 69 and Rachmaninov’s Sonata op 19

Come and immerse yourself in musical imagination and ingenuity as Colin Carr, virtuous cellist and artist-in-residence, joins forces with rising star Kyungwah Chu to bring masterworks of the cello and piano repertoire to the Staller Center.

Written around the same time as his epic Fifth and Sixth Symphonies, the Beethoven Cello and Piano Sonata no. 3 is one of his most popular and innovative works for the medium, and is the first time he achieved a true equality between the two instruments. Rachmaninoff also regarded the role of the piano to be equal to the cello in his Sonata op. 19, an amazing work that has the distinction of being the composer's last chamber music work.

Ticket revenue from this concert will be used to benefit cello students in the Department of Music at Stony Brook.

Debuting on Epic Records with her first album, Hunter, James embarked on a multi-city tour in support of her second release, Reckless Abandon. In between her tours have been appearances on Broadway in shows like Motown: The Musical, Godspell, and The Addams Family.

Through a combination of sheer precision, wild talent, and daring ability, The Peking Acrobats have spent the last 30 years celebrating, reimagining, and pushing the boundaries of Chinese Acrobatics. Their internationally acclaimed performances have seen them thrilling audiences in all corners of the world. Now they bring their stunning technique to the Staller MainStage in a special performance with special guests from THE SHANGHAI CIRCUS! 

Performing atop a precious pagoda of chairs, defying gravity in displays of contortion, flying across the stage with trick-cycling, juggling, precision tumbling, somersaulting, and riveting gymnastics, The Peking Acrobats defy human ability in a collision of strength and charm.

Combining time-honored Chinese music and groundbreaking special effects to create an environment that mirrors the festive pageantry of a Chinese Carnival, The Peking Acrobats are set to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime evening of exuberant entertainment.

Emerson String Quartet 

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2022 @ 7PM  RECITAL HALL

After 30 recordings and 9 Grammy Awards, the world-renowned Emerson String Quartet begins their last full year together before embarking on their new individual ventures. The first concert of their final season begins with an early Mendelssohn work, his dramatic String Quartet No. 1 in E-flat major, Op. 12. This is followed by another early work, Alban Berg’s ground-breaking quartet from 1910, written when the composer was only 25, and was forging a new language that connected the end of romanticism with the beginning of atonality. Their concert concludes with Dvorak’s last quartet - No. 14 in A♭ major, Op. 105 - which he he began during his three year tenure in America, and only finished months after he returned to his Czech  homeland. You do not want to miss this chance to both hear and see one of the worlds best String Quartets as they perform these treasures in our intimate Staller Center Recital Hall.

Performing for over four decades, stand-up comedian, Internet personality, and actor Vic DiBitetto has established himself as “The Donkey of Comedy”, doling out wildly irreverent takes on the world around him. Born in Brooklyn in the 1960s, DiBitetto’s signature stand up makes an evening with him feel like an evening with your favorite cousin. 

With millions of followers online, his incredibly popular social media channels have amassed over 1 Billion views worldwide, featuring the famous Bread and Milk bit, his “Who Wants Coffee?” videos, and the Ticked Off Vic series. Notably, he is now a regular cast member of the Amazon Prime TV show Gravesend co -starring with Chazz Palminteri, William Forsythe, and Vincent Pastore.  Vic has a new album out called Ticked Off Vic currently playing on SiriusXM comedy channels.

Michael Feinstein

Cabaret legend Michael Feinstein returns to the Staller Center with a gorgeous celebration of Judy Garland on her 100th Birthday.

In an evening of tributes, surprises, and sentiment, Feinstein celebrates the unparalleled star, using his own effervescent charisma and talent to channel and celebrate Garland’s. Charting through Garland’s storied career, Feinstein and audiences will connect in a journey through Garland’s life and times, punctuated by personal stories told to Feinstein from his dear friend, Garland’s daughter Liza Minnelli, and other close friends. The evening’s set list will feature recently discovered, previously unheard arrangements from Garland’s repertoire, peeling back to curtain and revealing rare insight to the enduring Garland mystique.

With a stunning tenor, Matthew Polenzani has been bringing Met audiences to their feet for years, since his debut in 1997. Breathing new, vibrant life into characters like Cosi Fan Tutte’s Fernando, Tamiko in The Magic Flute, and the title role of Don Carlos, the New York Times hailed him as “a vocalist of refinement, inwardness and melancholy.” 

Now, Polenzani brings that voice of equal power and tenderness to the Recital Hall in a thrilling, intimate evening of highlights from his award-winning, versatile career.

Caroline Campbell

HOLLYWOOD SERENADE: THE ARTISTRY OF CAROLINE CAMPBELL

Establishing herself both as a skilled classical artist and a versatile contemporary musician, world renowned violinist Caroline Campbell was last seen at Staller alongside Chris Botti, moving the audience to rapturous applause with her instrument alone. Poised to do that once more, Campbell returns to the Staller Center  in a thrilling evening of cinematic hits. 

Invigorating some of the best-known music of Hollywood and beyond, this once in a lifetime talent is “an acrobat without a safety net, she knows how to seduce, to move people and make them dance.” (Andrea Boccielli). From concerts at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House to solo appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Indianapolis Symphony, and many more, Campbell’s internationally acclaimed brilliance will come to life as she couples brilliant renditions of some of film’s most beloved songs with her enigmatic presence.

The Kat & Dave Show

16-time Grammy winning music icon David Foster and acclaimed singer, television, and Broadway star Katharine McPhee bring their viral Instagram show on the road.

With a lot of time on their hands thanks to the pandemic, husband and wife-duo Foster and McPhee took to Instagram and began broadcasting The Kat and Dave Show directly from their living room. Realizing that they had quite the act going, the duo is now taking the viral sensation on the road. 

In an intimate evening of the hits that have defined their incredible careers, this powerhouse duo will be performing a setlist of hits from Dave’s repertoire- with songs from Chicago, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, and more- and Kat’s- featuring songs from her acclaimed performances on Broadway and the West End, the cult favorite series Smash, and her career-launching season of American Idol.

The Quartet’s signature sweetness comes to life in a gorgeous and heartwarming performance for our young audiences.

Sons of Serendip - Holiday Show

Winning the hearts of fans and judges alike as finalists on America’s Got Talent, Sons of Serendip transfixing stage presence returns to the Staller Center in a festive evening of warmth and cheer. 

It was serendipity that brought the four members of Billboard-charting Sons of Serendip together- and watching them onstage proves that. 

Lead vocalist Micah Christian, cellist and vocalist Kendall Ramseur, pianist Cordaro Rodriguez, and harpist Mason Morton met when they were graduate students at Boston University. And while fate united them, their innate talent and dedication to share their music with the world is what has skyrocketed the quartet to fame.

For one night only, the King of Long Island comes home in his first Staller Center appearance, blocks away from the streets that built him! 



Ranked as one of the 100 greatest stand-ups by Comedy Central, his lauded specials Sweat The Small Stuff and Never Don’t Give Up have solidified James as one of the top comics of his generation. Now, James brings that incisive, irreverent stand-up to the Main Stage in an all-out hilarious evening. Returning to his Stony Brook roots, James will have audiences doubled over in laughter as he comes home- and brings his biting, uproarious wit with him. 

Since performing his first Stand-up set at Long Island’s East Side Comedy Club in 1989, Kevin James has established himself as a powerhouse actor, writer, and comedian. Discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a deal with Paramount to develop his own sitcom, The King of Queens. Earning an Emmy nomination for his role, James starred in all nine seasons of the smash hit show, which continues to air daily in syndication. Moving from television to film, James’ iconic roles in the films Hitch, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Grown Ups catapulted him into stardom. He continues to dominate all of these mediums, having starred in the sitcoms Kevin Can Wait and The Crew and the new films Hubie Halloween, Home Team, and Becky, all while lending his voice to the Hotel Transylvania films.
