Chick Corea’s solo piano concerts are
virtuoso performances rife with soulsearching
explorations. The twelve-time
Grammy award winner’s four-decade
career is the stuff of jazz lore. A prolific
composer, many of his works have
become classics—among them, “Spain,”
and “Captain Marvel.” Recent milestones
include a premiere of a new piano work
as part of the gala Mozart Year in Vienna.
Chick has touched an astonishing number
of musical bases in his illustrious
career as a composer and performer. He’s
played with many jazz greats, including
Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Gary Burton, and
Dizzy Gillespie, and made many fans with
his fusion group, Return to Forever, the
Elektric Band, the Akoustic Band and his
flamenco-flavored band, Touchstone.
