This engaging tale of a young girl newly-arrived from Mozambique develops within the spiritual traditions, culture and history of African-Americans and Southeast-African people. Her struggle to fit-in, be accepted and have friends addresses issues of the cruelty of teasing, tolerance, embracing differences, and finding one’s strength and sense of self in difficult times. The fusion of exhilarating contemporary dances, music and storytelling makes for a remarkable dance experience.
