Michael Feinstein, who has been described as "Gershwin's official archivist" will join the BBC Orchestra of London as the soloist for "Rhapsody in Blue". The program will feature this pop vocalist, composer and arranger who will demonstrate why he has been dubbed "America's Ambassador of Song". Sold out shows worldwide, performances for three Presidents in the White House and for England's Queen Mother make him a natural choice for a Staller Center Gala.

The BBC orchestra, formed in 1952, has a wide and flexible repertoire, ranging from classical works and grand opera to light music and popular songs. Their performance at the Gala will include Bernstein's Candide Overture, Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture as well as music by Borodin, Sibelius, Elgar and Arne.
